I'm using AVG, work's well and it's free. I'd never use norton again, you might not realise this but it slows your computer right down.

Well, it hasn't happened yet. If it does, I'll be sure to use AVG or Antivir

I use and love Kaspersky security suite. I was an avid lover of Norton until I came across and purchased this software. Its resource usage is low(unlike Norton) and their response to new threats is above none. There are constant updates. I feel it the best out there today.

The new norton v4 doesn't slow your pc down. That's the on I am using but it runs around next month or something, so I am getting another one. I always have one free one and one paid one running at the same time. Currently I have avast and norton. I might get something new one, but I like avast so will keep that as my free one.

Anvir task manager is something you can use but it costs and isnt an antivirus, but it shows you were the problems are, so you can delete it using an antivirus software.
